Vance is his name – clarity is his game. Give him a conundrum and he’ll break it down in no time flat. This guy loves a good challenge. He lives for working out the kinks and zeroing in on a solution to any problem you put in front of him.

Bonus fact: He’s our resident techie, so if you’ve got a computer question, chances are he can suggest a great solution or point you in the right direction.

Around the office, he can be heard saying: “Have you tried Google?” (he likes to encourage us to be problem solvers too!)

When he’s not at work: he can be found on a tennis court or fishing boat.

Matt has attention to detail that’s second to none. He’s thoughtful and methodical in his approach.  We can always count on him to consider each situation with empathy and we trust that he’ll look at every angle before drawing a conclusion.

Bonus fact: He’s our human calculator, if you need a quick percentage solved on the fly, he’s your man….go ahead, try him.

Around the office, he can be heard saying: “Have we taken care of _________?” (he likes to follow up to make sure we’re dotting all the I’s and crossing all the T’s)

When he’s not at work: he can be found on a golf course, following sports, or traveling with his wife Amy.

Jim is our “social animal!” He loves being active in the community and is comfortable in front of a big crowd. What we most admire, though, is his ability to connect one-on-one… he really listens. His philosophy is to “listen first then figure out a path forward,” asking questions and finding clarity before offering advice.

Bonus fact: Jim loves music! He is a live jazz aficionado and supports local artists at venues around Ventura County.

When he’s not at work: he can be found cheering for his Ohio State Buckeyes or taking part in community events such as the California Jazz & Wine Fest (he’s a founding member!).

Cathy’s superpower?  Laser focus on follow through. If you want something done right the first time, go to Cathy.  And with all of that focus, she still manages to answer the phone with a smile….we’re not sure how it’s even possible, but you can hear her smile! Sometimes we’ll just ring her extension to get a mood booster. In a word, she’s indispensable.

Bonus fact: Since her daughter’s diagnosis with Type 1 Diabetes, she has been a tireless advocate for finding a cure and offering support to other families dealing with the disease.

When she’s not at work she can be found at the ice skating rink cheering on her daughter Olivia or organizing support groups and fundraising for a cure for Type 1.

Julie likes to describe her job as “all the fun stuff” – planning fun social events and creating marketing pieces that reflect the HWC style. She also loves organizing projects and working on processes to streamline our workload. Upbeat and positive, she can be counted on to describe the cup as half-full.

Bonus fact: If you need tips on moving, she’s your girl.  Her husband’s job has required them to move four times in the last 10 years.

When she’s not at work: she can be found at the LA Coliseum cheering on the Trojans (together with her mom she’s had USC season tickets for over 25 years) or “making memories” with her husband Scott and son Drew.

Christina is the newest addition to our Ventura team. We love her for her cheerful style and eagerness to offer support to our clients. Plus, she’s an ace at helping to coordinate what’s going on behind the scenes. A native of the Ventura area, Christina loves the variety of activities it offers from sun-soaked family days at the beach to evenings spent enjoying the entertainment and restaurants of downtown Ventura.

Bonus fact: She loves weightlifting and can leg press 475 pounds!

When she’s not at work: she can be found spending time with her husband, two kids, and extended family (she’s one of six kids and her kids have seven cousins!). She also loves reading mysteries and writing short stories.
